Recently, the State Council for study abroad (CSC) announced the list of funding for "Rural Revitalization talent training program" in 2022, and the "international talent training program of food discipline" applied by the University relying on food science and engineering discipline was successfully approved.
Professor Li Guoliang is the person in charge of the project. The implementation period is three years from 2022 to 2024. Each year, one visiting scholar of food science and engineering, biology and medicine (food engineering direction) and seven postgraduates are jointly trained to study in the United States, the European Union and other world-class universities, In accordance with the standards for visiting scholars and postgraduate students to study abroad, the State Council for study abroad grants a round-trip travel and scholarship living expenses, with a total funding of more than 4 million yuan.
The school leaders attached great importance to the application of the project. Principal Li Zhijian personally guided the project, and vice principal Pu Yongping led a team to Beijing for on-site defense. The international division arranged the deployment as soon as possible, and invited experts from the province for precise guidance. The project aims at food safety, green processing of agricultural products and other international frontiers, cultivates applied talents with international vision, meets the needs of food industry development and helps rural revitalization. The approval of the project has further promoted the internationalization process of the school's personnel training, and also highly recognized the work accumulation of school food discipline in personnel training, international cooperation, and Rural Revitalization. In the next stage, the school will select and recommend personnel according to relevant regulations.
A brief introduction to the talent training program for Rural Revitalization: established by the State Council for study abroad, the project is first approved and then selected. The goal is to focus on and serve the National Rural Revitalization Strategy, and cultivate the agricultural and rural application-oriented talents in the country's urgent need and weak fields. It is reported that in the early stage, the approved units of the project are generally "double first-class" agricultural colleges and universities.
