Professor Xiong Youling, a senior professor from the University of Kentucky, visited the Weiyang tutor Forum

On January 7, 2022, Professor Xiong Youling, senior professor of the University of Kentucky and former chairman of IFT meat science branch, was invited to attend the series of academic reports of Weiyang tutor Forum (session 684). The report was conducted online and presided over by Professor Huang Junrong, Dean of the College of food. Some teachers and graduate students listened to the report.

The title of Professor Xiong Youling's report is "common problems in English thesis writing", which is explained in detail from the aspects of wording, grammatical tense, logical order, etc., and introduces the possible problems in each part. Based on the reviewer's point of view, this paper selects an English paper case to explain its problems, such as improper use of words, improper grammar, unclear expression and so on. It also emphasizes the importance of academic norms and academic ethics. Professor Xiong communicated with graduate students online on relevant issues and gave detailed answers to some specific questions about English thesis writing.

Xiong Youling, male, senior professor of University of Kentucky, former chairman of IFT meat science branch, was elected as fellow of American IFT Association, fellow of ACS agfd Association, fellow of IAFoST of International Academy of Food Sciences and fellow of American Meat Science Association in 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2021. The research focuses on the chemistry and function of food protein, processing technology and safety of meat products, antioxidant peptides and protein oxidation mechanism. More than 300 SCI articles have been published, more than 30 international academic conferences have been organized, and more than 100 speeches have been invited. More than 60 doctors, masters and postdoctors have been trained. In January 2015, he won the "bertebos" award of the Royal Academy of agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
