Natural food polymer team publishes the latest achievements of protein based nanofibers

Introduction of achievements

Zein is a kind of natural plant protein, which has good hydrophobicity and oxygen resistance. It can effectively reduce the influence of water, oxygen and other environmental factors on its product performance. Zein based nanofibers have become a research hotspot in the field of gas adsorption. In this paper, zein based nanofibers with different orientations were constructed by designing a variety of electrospinning substrates. The structural characteristics, antibacterial activity, mechanical properties, gas and particle filtration properties of zein based nanofibers were studied by SEM-EDAX, FTIR, TGA and mercury porosimetry. The results showed that the average diameter of traditional zein based nanofiber membrane (zmfs PT) was 1.75 μ m. The non orientation degree and pore area are 0.826 M two g -1 The porosity is 43.02%. Oriented zein based nanofiber membrane (znfs- Ag@PT )The average diameter of the fiber is 190 nm, the orientation degree is - 30 ° - 30 ° and the pore area is 5.154 M two g -1 The porosity is 47.85%. Based on the above structural features, znfs can be used as a reference for the design of znfs- Ag@PT It has excellent antibacterial activity, mechanical properties, hydrophobic properties, gas and particle filtration properties, which provides a basis for its further application in ethylene adsorption in fruit preservation field and PM filtration in environmental field.
